How to Play — Prime Match

    Game Objective

Connect adjacent prime tiles by dragging to multiply them together. Your goal is to match the exact Target Number shown at the top!

    Game Flow

    • Drag to Connect: Click and drag across adjacent tiles (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal)
    • Watch the Product: Your current multiplication result displays in real-time
    • Visual Feedback:
      • White/Blue glow = Still building your path
      • Red glow = Overshot the target!
      • Green glow = Perfect match! ✓
    • Release to Submit: Let go when you see green to score points
    • Tiles Drop & Refill: Matched tiles pop with stars, remaining tiles fall down, and new tiles spawn from the top

    Level System

Choose from Levels 1-10. Each level introduces more primes:

    • Level 1: Just 2 and 3
    • Level 5: Primes up to 13
    • Level 10: All primes up to 31!

    Scoring

Points = Target × Path Length
Longer paths = Higher scores! Strategic matching is key.

    Tips

    • Look for chains of small primes to build up to larger targets
    • You can drag backward to remove the last tile from your path
    • Higher levels are more challenging but more rewarding!
    • Plan ahead — the target is always solvable with the current board

    Game Hints & Strategy

    🎯 Basic Strategy

    • Start Small: Look for combinations of 2s and 3s to build up to targets gradually
    • Work Backwards: Factor the target number in your head, then look for those primes on the board
    • Use Corners: Corner tiles have fewer adjacent options, so plan paths that utilize them
    • Path Length Matters: Longer paths give more points! Try to find the longest valid path

    🧮 Mental Math Tips

    • Know Your Multiples: Memorize common products (2×3=6, 2×5=10, 3×5=15, etc.)
    • Factor Trees: Break target numbers into prime factors first
    • Powers of Primes: Remember 2²=4, 2³=8, 3²=9, 5²=25, 7²=49
    • Stay Flexible: If you overshoot, drag backwards to remove the last tile

    📈 Advanced Techniques

    • Board Awareness: Before making a move, scan the whole board for the best path
    • Plan Cascades: Think about how tiles will fall after you clear them
    • Prime Distribution: Notice which primes appear more frequently on your current board
    • Diagonal Connections: Don't forget you can move diagonally for more path options

    🎓 Level-Specific Advice

    • Levels 1-3: Perfect for learning. Focus on basic multiplication practice
    • Levels 4-6: Introduce 11 and 13. Watch for products like 2×11=22, 2×13=26
    • Levels 7-10: Higher primes mean bigger targets! Break them down systematically

    💡 Pro Tips

    • The target is always solvable with the current board—never impossible!
    • Take your time! There's no timer, so think strategically
    • If stuck, try starting from different corners of the board
    • Practice makes perfect—your mental math will improve with each game!
